Tips & Tricks: Multiple Languages Made Easy

Engaging Networks Multi-Language Campaigns

What’s your favorite locale? A restaurant, lovely park or store? With Engaging Networks, you can make your actions and donation forms as personal to your supporters as their favorite place – at least in terms of language. Adding locales to your pages means that supporters will see that page in their preferred language. Cool, right?

Locales are used to set the default language for your page content and form fields based on the preferred language preference set in a browser. When building pages, you create content for each locale enabled in your account. When no location is available, your default locale will be used.

This means that if you are running a dual-language (or multi-language) campaign, you can use the native tools in Engaging Networks to ensure that your supporters will see content and form fields in whatever language they have selected as their default browser language. No more translation tools needed.

For example, you don’t have to create two separate donation pages, one in English and one in French, you can have one page that switches between English and French depending on the donors preferences. A great example of donor centric fundraising!

Here’s an example of a basic sign up page in English

https://politicalnetworks.com/page/11578/subscribe/1?mode=DEMO&locale=en-US

and here is the same page with French localization

You have total control over the translation of form fields and all copy on the page. On top of this, you’re also able to set specific validators and tooltips for each localization. While this feature takes a bit to set up, after you’ve added the translations once, they will always be available; you can save all page components to the ‘library’ and access them from the page components menu at any time.
